Water Keeping

The Sacred Waters Pilgrimage

The Sacred Waters Pilgrimage was a powerful journey spearheaded by The Wind & The Warrior Collective and The Gulf Coast Center For Law and Policy in Louisiana, in order to facilitate restorative dialogue among the ancestral lineages of Native, Black women, and Two-Spirit folk, as well as to offer collective prayers of healing to the waters. This work took place in the form of both live and virtual ceremonies held along seven sacred sites along the Mississippi River, and across seven full moons in 2020. I am honored to have served as one of many hands and hearts on the Chiefs and Ritualists committee, where I offered support in guiding and anchoring high ritual, identifying techniques to creating sacred space toward holding and moving through tension and healing processes. I worked closely with a profound team of medicine women in organizing these frameworks for the pilgrimage's water ceremony activities. The Wind & Warrior Collective has generously documented the journey in the Sacred Waters Journal here.
